Event Share – Berlin. Fetish Guerilla. GFB Weekend.
By Dave Darcy Edmond on April 28, 2016
“As every year we are the official pre-party for the German Fetish Ball. And as every year KitKat club is the venue of choice.” Martin Pelzer – Promoter.
Let me translate that statement …….. Fetish Guerilla promoter Martin has been at the forefront of Berlin alternative club nights since I first visited the German capital some 10 years ago. A cheerful and friendly guy he puts in maximum effort and functions on club nights like a human dynamo. The Kit Kat has been a – genuine – Berlin legend since, I guess, forever. Its the Berlin equivelant of every famous club in every city worldwide; the one everyone knows that must be sampled. Put the two together and a great night is guaranteed. Of the two large scale parties Fetish Guerilla can probably be fairly described as the more dance orientated, more clubby, and more gritty. The Kit Kat is not a multi million pound (euro?) state of the art venue; its kinda more like a well worn leather jacket ……. a bit rough round the edges, maybe a few scuff marks, but much loved, reliable, and life would never be the same without it. FG parties typically kick off around 11pm – midnight and can go on till sometime the following day, or longer. Here’s a few “bullet points” The club has several rooms playing different music – explore well (or ask) or you may miss some. There’s a swimming pool so you may want to bring swimwear and/or a towel (though I gotta say I wouldn’t swallow any of the water). It’s possibly worth taking a bag to deposit stuff in the cloakroom as they are fairly strict in not allowing you take in things you aren’t actually wearing. Although smoking is not allowed in Berlin venues many just completely ignore the rule. The crowd tends to be very mixed as the Kit Kat has a large gay following. The Kit Kat people are probably amongst the friendliest of clubbers – it often feels like a house party – so you can be less reserved about starting a conversation. Bar prices are low by comparison to any city I can think of. Almost everyone speaks English. There’s NO presale, pay on the door, cash is king. When they write “not to be missed” …… this party is what that means. Here’s the official line up as of today *
Faray (Voltage Musique)
Aline & Sune (Marry me!)
Sabine Hoffmann (Frauengedeck)
Räubertöchtäs (Helga’s Kitchen)
Pandemonium (Sin City / Vancouver)

Dress to impress!
*As with all big events line ups are subject to change. Don’t worry. Whatever happens Martin and his crew will handle it, you will have a great time.
