By Rollerblade on October 31, 2007
Digital art pioneer and friend of Skin Two Laurence Gartel is Artistic Director and organiser of the new bi-annual digital art festival on Long Island, New York. Digital Long Island is a new platform giving voice to creative innovations in new media. Works of Art are displayed in all forms having technology as a basis.
There will be two-dimensional images, sculptures, interactive works and robotics as well as a programme of lectures, workshops and hands-on demonstrations. The four core projects are the National Juried Exhibition, Digital Media Festival, Student Exhibition and Invitational Exhibition.
Featured artists include these favourites of ours; Andrew Greaves, Bill Reichardt, Corinne Whitaker, Martin Mendelsberg and Michael Nekic. Some of the student work is great, too – look out for Ashley-Lyn Godlstein, Gabriela Sinisi, Amanda Rodriguez and Chris Witteck.
